The highly anticipated sci-fi exploration game No Man’s Sky is all set for launch on August 9th but that hasn't stopped one fan from making a companion app for the game ahead of schedule.

The unofficial app is called MS Ally and was created by a Reddit user who goes by the name: Aleator83. The app itself comes with a few nifty features that are bound to make your playthrough a little less intimidating.

It comes with a few handy features like a name generator for planets and creature that cross your path, a journal that tracks where and when elements were discovered while playing and even lets you upload screenshots that you can share with other app users.

There is also a feature that shows users where they can find resources, first noticed by Polygon.

The app is currently live for Android and will be available for iOS post Apple’s approval, said the developer in a post on reddit.

No Man's Sky is set to release on August 9 for PlayStation 4 and  August 12 for Microsoft Windows PC.
