The Asus ZenWatch 2 stainless steel smartwatch claims to have a two-day battery life, and comes with rubber and leather strap options
Asus has announced availability of their ZenWatch 2 in the Indian market. The watch will be available in two bezel sizes, 1.63-inch (WI501Q) and 1.45-inch (WI502Q), priced at Rs 14,999 and Rs 11,999 respectively.
The watches will be first available on Flipkart, and subsequently at Asus exclusive retail outlets.
Key features of of this square-faced watch include:
- The ability to control a smartphone’s camera with viewfinder preview, gesture-controlled shutter and timer
- Muting an incoming call using the smartwatch by simply covering the watchface with your hand
- A ‘Find My Phone’ function for determining your phone’s location
- A Business Helper feature to quickly access upcoming agenda and calendar items directly from the watch
- A Fonehelper app, to control phone settings including Wi-Fi, volume and hotspots from the watch
- The ability to launch a workout session by saying ‘Start Workout’ to launch the watch-based workout coach, where the user can set time, period, distance, or expected calories burnt as goals, and receive a notification when these goals are achieved
The ZenWatch 2 comes in a hand-polished stainless-steel casing with a curved watch crystal and a crown button that echoes traditional watch styling, while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 provides durability. Users can select from multiple watchface designs and customization options from the ZenWatch Manager app on their smartphone, and can also create customized watchfaces using the app.
The ZenWatch 2 is based on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 512MB RAM and 4GB of onboard storage. Available in Silver and Gunmetal for WI501Q and Silver for the W1502Q variant, the watches have two strap variants: Rubber and Leather. The smartwatch is equipped with a battery that is claimed to provide up to two days of usage and a three-day standby time. Also bundled is an all-new magnetic pogo-clip for easy charging.
