Asus India has announced availability of the ZenFone Max smartphone, with its title feature being a large 5,000mAH battery.

Priced at Rs 9,999, the phone is available for pre-booking from 12 noon today on Amazon and Flipkart as well as at Asus exclusive stores across the country.

With its larger-than-standard lithium-polymer battery, the company states that the device will require fewer charge cycles, and will deliver 37.6 hours of 3G talk time or 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi Web browsing or 72.9 hours of music playback or 22.6 hours of video playback when fully charged. The phone can also double up as a power bank that can be used to charge other portable USB devices.

This 4G phone is 5.2mm thin and is based on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard memory with the option to add another 64GB via the integrated microSD slot.

Other specifications include a 13MP rear and 5MP front PixelMaster camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens and laser auto-focus, along with a low-light mode that claims to capture up to 400 percent brighter photos at night or low light condition without utilizing the flash.
