The ghost of agitation returned to haunt Kashmir, with Hurriyat’s Syed Ali Shah Geelani calling for a “strike till demilitarisation begins”.
After the call, Geelani was arrested. Later, they changed their decision and called for a two-day strike. The matter will be reviewed on Friday.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti tried to hijack the agenda when she led a march of party legislators and supporters to Shopian to express solidarity with the families of the two women who were raped and allegedly killed by armed forces.
“Expose the killers. Send troops back to barracks. We want justice,” she said.
