One dies in Bengal coastal district

One person was killed as most parts of East Midnapore district was hit by cyclone Aila. Srikanta Sahu died at Ramnagar in the district in the severe cyclone, official sources said.
     
Large part of the district is without power and telephone connectivity till this afternoon, sources said. Electric lines were snapped in several places, leading most part of the district going without power since yesterday afternoon.
    
At least 10,000 mud houses were damaged or destroyed due to the cyclone and rain which caused maximum damage at Ramnagar and Digha.
