'Ashish is very helpful and cooperative’

Ashish Ravindra Nathan belongs to a financially sound family, residing in a plush house at Viphusha Bungalows. His father has been living in the US for more than five years.
Nathan's maternal grandmother, who was present in the house, told DNA, "On Wednesday night, at around 1.30 am, five-six people in plain clothes came to our house and took Ashish with them in a car, claiming that he is involved in some nefarious activity."

Ashish's mother, who works in a beauty parlour at Jivraj Park, said someone was trying to trap her son in a credit card fraud. She said Ashish left the house with two pairs of clothes and a toothbrush saying he would return soon.

Ashish's grandmother further said that her grandson is brilliant in studies. After completing his higher secondary, he was enrolled in IIT-Bombay's extension centre at Gandhinagar and used to go there daily. His father Ravindra Nathan has been living in the US for more than five years and has a motel business.

"Ashish is very helpful and cooperative in nature. Once there was severe pain in my legs and when he came home, he applied ointment on my legs. It was only the next morning that I came to know that Ashish was down with fever," Nathan's grandmother said.

Ashish's maternal aunt has also been living in the US for the past 15 years.
She said that someone had trapped Ashish in false case.
