The victim, Kamlesh Prajapati, was abducted from Chandola overbridge. Police recovered him from Limdivas, Gota Gam, on late Monday evening and have arrested four persons - Bharat Thakore, Mukesh Thakore, Shravan Marwadi and Gulab Chandra - in this connection.
MD Nisrada, sub-inspector with Sola police station, said, “The four have been booked for kidnapping Prajapati.” Sola police said that on Monday night Bharat Thakore, a resident of Gota who runs an omelette stall, his brother-in-law Mukesh Thakore, a resident of Chandola, Shravan and Gulab Chandra kidnapped Prajapati. They beat up Prajapati and pushed his autorickshaw into a pit.
When Kamlesh did not return home, his family got worried and his brother, Kalpesh Prajapati, informed the police control.
The police control intimated the Sola police about the incident, who immediately started the rescue work and freed Prajapati within three hours from Limdivas, Gota Gam.
“After receiving information from the police control, we along with the police patrolling van got on our toes. The victim’s brother Mukesh was also with us.
During patrolling, we spotted a Maruti car near Limdivas area, and when we went forward to check it, we found Kamlesh inside,” informed Nisrada.
A source said that Kamlesh had an altercation with Bharat Thakore on April 29 over parking the autorickshaw in front of his car. Bharat and Mukesh had also assaulted Kamlesh. Later, Kamlesh had lodged a complaint against Thakore at Sarkhej police station.
Sola police said that the Thakores had asked Kamlesh to go for a settlement, and had even asked him to withdraw his complaint.
