A fast track on Monday sentenced six Maxi cab drivers to life imprisonment for committing two murders in 2006 in Haryana’s Gurgaon district.

Fast track court magistrate AK Singhal gave life terms to Pramod, the gang leader, Budhram, Ravi, Mukesh, Vikram and Rohtash.

All are aged between 22 and 30. The court also fined them Rs5,000 each.
The modus operandi of the gang, which used to operate taxis, was to murder their passengers, take away their belongings and throw the bodies in gutters along the highway.

The police had arrested the gang members and booked them under Sections 395 and 307 IPC for robbery and attempt to murder at the Sector 56 police station after they beat up and robbed a person of Rs40,000.

The six were held guilty on Saturday in two separate murder cases. They allegedly killed 22 other people.
