Son kills father in UP village

A retired Air Force personnel was on Sunday shot dead allegedly by his son over a land dispute at Karwada village near here, police said.

Vijay Singh (50) was allegedly shot dead by his elder son Vikas when he was returning in his tractor from the nearby fields. His younger son filed a complaint against the accused who is absconding.

In another incident, one Virender Kumar was shot dead by motorcycle-borne youths at Kudva village in the district this evening.

Kumar was returning with his family when his car was intercepted by two youths on a motorcycle who shot at him, police said.

The rest of the family was unhurt.
