3 gem traders’ bodies exhumed

Three gem traders of Bangalore - Meer Abbas, Shahur Raza and Jabir Abbas - were recently killed by their business colleague in Deesa taluka of Banaskantha. Their bodies were exhumed by the Banaskantha police from a farm near Juna Deesa on Wednesday.
The incident came to light after Ishwar Rajput, the victims' counterpart, was arrested by the Bangalore police while selling the precious stones looted from the three traders. The teams of Ahmedabad Crime Branch and Banaskantha police jointly nabbed all the three accused in the case.

The entire area was shocked when the police exhumed the three bodies from a large pit in a farm near Juna Deesa. "The location of the pit came to light after we nabbed Dhansinh Rajput and Lala," district superintendent of police, Banaskantha, HK Patel told DNA. The two, along with Ishwar, had killed the traders after April 7, 2009.

"The three traders took a flight from Bangalore and stayed at Palanpur," a police source said. They were called here by Ishwar for a deal to sell precious stones worth Rs30 lakh. "Ishwar came to their hotel along with Dhansinh and Lala. Later, they planned to kill the traders and loot their precious stones," a police source said.

They were told by Ishwar that he had called a prostitute for them, who was waiting at a hut in a farm located on the outskirts of the city. "When the three reached the farm, they were killed one by one by Ishwar and his two accomplices," the police source said.
Thereafter, the traders' bodies were dumped in a huge pit which had been dug earlier.
After the Bangalore police arrested Ishwar, they approached the Ahmedabad crime branch for help in further action.

"The Ahmedabad crime branch found out the location of the culprits, who were later on arrested by the Banaskantha police," the source said.
