The prosecution has framed 312 charges against each of the three arrested accused in the 26/11 terror attacks case and 35 other wanted accused, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told the special court on Monday.

The draft charge that Nikam submitted to the court said that Mohammed Ajmal Amir, alias Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive in the terror attacks last year, co-accused Faheem Ansari, Sabauddin Ahmed and the 35 wanted accused had hatched the criminal conspiracy to wage a war against the government of India. They had also murdered 166 people and injured 238 during the attacks, the draft charge said. The conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan between December 2007 and January 2008, the draft charge said.

Nikam told the court that Ajmal, Ansari, Ah-med, the nine terrorists killed by the Indian security forces and the 35 wanted accused were members of Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT).

The prosecution said that the accused had waged a war against India to overawe the government of India, terrorise its people, destabilise the government and weaken India’s economic might.

The defence will oppose the charges on Tuesday.
