Bharatiya Janshakti Party leader Uma Bharti on Monday called for a strong legislation to halt the unabated infiltration into Assam from across neighbouring Bangladesh affecting the law and order here.

"There is a need for a very strong act to halt the infiltration from Bangladesh as it affecting the whole country. Because of infiltration bomb blasts are happening in the state and its law and order affected," said Bharti talking to reporters here.

"Entry of illegal migrants from across the border has become a major problem. There were flaws and shortcomings in the scrapped IMDT Act. No such flaws should be in the new law for it to be effective", she said.

"Because of infiltration blasts are occuring here and how are crores of Bangladeshis allowed to enter India. The separatist groups are also a major threat to Assam and its neighbouring states", Bharti pointed out.

Campaigning in Assam for the BJP, from where she had broken away, Uma said, "when (L K) Advaniji becomes the prime minister I will urge him to enact a law for stopping the influx".

Explaining her support to the BJP, the Bharatiya Janshakti leader said, "I support Advaniji and only want his victory. He
is the most honest and capable person to be the prime minister. I have not demanded any seat for my party".

"I have supported Advaniji for solution of the Ram Mandir, Ram Setu and halting of the infiltration issues. The Mandir should be set up at the site (Babri Masjid). The land issue there can be sorted out in court, but the emotional issue of
religion has to be settled through negotiations and dialogue" Uma said.

Criticising the Congress of having a pro-USA policy, Bharti said, it should be pro poor.
