Drawing a simile with Jesus's crucifixion and BJP's formation, senior leader LK Advani on Monday said BJP is a party that resurrected on an Easter Sunday after 'crucifixion' on Good Friday.

The BJP prime ministerial candidate, here for campaigning in Kerala, with a significant Christian population, said it was on Easter in 1980 that the BJP was born. The resolution against those in the erstwhile Jan Sangh by their rivals in the Janata Party was moved on Good Friday on April 4 of that year and the BJP was formed the next Sunday, Advani told a meet-the-press here.

Advani also shared the nation's joy over India winning the Azlan Shah Hockey tournament against Malaysia at Ipoh on Sunday.

"When I was in school, only India used to win in hockey", he said.

Stating that the 21st century could be that of India in every sector, he said in cricket also the country could rise pretty much higher.
