Even as the SP-Congress face off continues with the former alleging the ruling party of raking up the disproportionate assets case against its chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, a senior Samajwadi Party leader on Thursday did not rule out the coming together of both both parties in future.

"Nothing is impossible," quipped SP general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav while speaking to reporters, when asked whether given the ongoing tension between the two parties, there could be a possibility of the two coming together in the post-poll scenario.

Yadav also ruled out that there would be any polarisation of votes in sestern Uttar Pradesh, especially areas adjacent to Pilibhit due to the Varun Gandhi controversy.

"None of the areas like Pilibhit, Etah, Badayun and Aonla, will witness any polarisation due to Varun Gandhi factor," he said.

When asked whether actor Sanjay Dutt, who was earlier in the day inducted as general secretary of Samajwadi Party, would campaign against Congress in the coming Lok Sabha elections, Yadav said, "He will campaign for Samajwadi Party and against anybody who would oppose us."

The SP leader also expressed confidence that Dutt's induction in the party and his campaigning for the party in UP would bolster SP's prospects there.
