Disabled in the city seem to be falling prey to the atrocities of the powerful. A mentally-challenged person was allegedly killed by his brother on Friday afternoon. The incident came close on the heels of the Wednesday mishap, when a mentally-challenged woman was gang raped by three people near Balyadev temple in Paldi.

The victim, identified as Ajitsinh Parmar, 33, was a resident of Noorbi-ni-chali, Paldi Bhatta. A source in the police said that Ajit was mentally challenged and had developed the habit of eating plastic and paper pieces. He also said that Dilipsinh Parmar, Ajitsinh's brother, was a driver with the AMTS and had even taken him to a doctor for treatment but with no positive results.

On Friday afternoon, Dilipsinh was going out for some work when he spotted Ajit eating plastic and paper bits. He caught hold of him and took him for a shave. Later, Dilipsinh dropped his brother back home and asked his family members to give him lunch. However, when Dilipsinh returned home in the afternoon, he again saw Ajit chewing plastic and paper pieces. In a fit of anger, Dilipsinh hit Ajitsinh on his head. He succumbed to the injury.
