Pilgrim dies en-route Vaishno Devi shrine

An elderly pilgrim, hailing from New Delhi, died due to heart attack en-route Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district of the state on Wednesday, a police spokesman said here.

Sukhdev died near a restaurant at Adh Kuwari, about five km from Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine, early on Wednesday, the spokesman said.

The 62-year-old resident of Govindpuri, Kalka in New Delhi died due to cardiac arrest, he said, adding the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members after completion of legal formalities.
