Election Commissioner Navin Chawla on Wednesday, declined to make any comment to newsmen here on the Varun Gandhi issue saying "however hard you may try, I wont play your googly."

The Election Commissioner sidestepped the issue at a press conference here when newsmen asked him why the EC did not advice the Samajvadi Party for putting up Mulayam Singh who allegedly threatened a lady district magistrate in his constituency or for making Sanjay Dutt, accused in a POTA case, its candidate, on the lines of the advice given to BJP against fielding Varun Gandhi  following his anti-Muslim speech as shown in a CD.

"I have come here to tell you on the poll preparation in Arunachal only. I won't make any comment on any other matter," Chawla said.

"But sir your declining also makes news", said a newsman to Chawla as the latter was preparing to leave the press conference.

"Maybe but I wont play your googly however hard you may try", Chawla was heard replying while leaving.
