In a discovery that is even more shocking than the triple murders they were investigating, the Porbandar police have discovered that it was a 17-year-old daughter who had shot her father dead when he was asleep and, with her lover, organised the murder of her mother and her two brothers. One of her brothers survived the murder attempt and it was his revelations that led the police to the killers.

During their investigation, the police found that Jagruti, the 17-year-old daughter of the deceased constable, Karsan Suva, had organised the murders with her 27-year-old lover, Haja Odedara. Odedara, who was already married, used to be the driver of Jagruti’s school rickshaw when she was in class X.

The two had also planned to kill Haja’s wife and minor son so that they could live together ever after. Jagruti was angry with her family members because they were against her affair with Odedara. Sources said Suva had beaten up Odedara when he came to know of their relationship.

According to the details of the case, the police control room received a message on March 1 that a constable in the local crime branch (LCB), Karsan Suva, had committed suicide late on the night of February 28. Suva had apparently shot himself by his own service revolver.
