Bihar's 'love guru' to try luck against Shatrughan Sinha

Bihar's controversial 'love guru' who married a student half his age, is all set to fight as an independent candidate against actor-turned politician and BJP's nominee Shatrughan Sinha in Patna (Saheb) Lok Sabha constituency here.

But he has apparently not traded love for politics.

"I have decided to fight the polls from Patna (Saheb) LS seat as an independent for which I will approach the Election Commission to allot heart as my symbol," Matuknath Choudhary, a former Patna University professor, said here.

"I want to make love the centre of resolving all kind of problems faced by the present-day society," he said, adding his foremost priority would be to spread the message of love.

Expressing reservations about joining any political party, Choudhary said "Only a person who can love people can deliver the goods in the larger interests of people."

Choudhary was sacked after being caught on camera living-in with his young pupil Julie, a Hindi student of Jawaharlal Nehru University in 2007. The two lovebirds, who claimed that they had married, were assaulted by his wife and others in the presence of the police.
