Boy dies enacting TV serial scene

A 12-year-old boy died when enacting a suicide scene from a serial here, police said on Sunday.
 
Bishal Hela, a resident of Lakshminarayan Tala Road near Botanical Gardens here, tied his neck with rope and tried to hang himself from the ceiling to enact a scene from a detective serial.
 
With serious neck injury, he was rushed to Howrah District General Hospital where he died on Saturday evening, police said.

A class-VII student, Bishal, would live with his grandmother at the housing complex of South Howrah General Hospital.
 
She found Bishal lying unconscious in the room and sent for his admission in South Howrah General Hospital from where he was shifted to District General Hospital. The grandmother told the police that Bishal had a habit of enacting scenes from TV serials.

Police have started an investigation and the body was sent for postmortem.
