The BJP is ‘shining’ yet again with its brand new ‘Change India Movement’. This time, however, they have found a new group of friends to rope in the indifferent intelligentsia.
Known as the “Friends of BJP”, they are a group of young professionals who have launched a new website to generate support among young brigade and mobilise them to participate in electoral process.

The man behind this movement is the Lead India Campaign winner R K Misra, who joined BJP on Sunday.

“‘Friends of BJP’ is a group of young professionals, entrepreneurs and activists who have come together to define a better India. We are not directly part of BJP, but, we have a common belief that the BJP is the best alternative. Through this website, we spread the word and make change happen,” said Misra.

Launching the website www.nationsfirst.in at a function here, national BJP leader Arun Jaitley said, “Modes of communication have changed. From TV to FM radio to  cyberspace, it’s essential to communicate with the educated professionals and get them to participate in the electoral process. The objective is to allow the non-conventional supporters to take the lead.” It also includes an SMS campaign.

“There is huge group of educated professionals who are worried and concerned. But, their discussion ends in drawing rooms and chat rooms. It is to help these people to decide to make a decision, to cast their precious votes that we have started this campaign through this website. Political apathy has to change. Through this campaign, we wish to convert the discussion in drawing rooms to ballot box and finally to change in governance,” Misra said.

Started by a group of professionals from Mumbai, the campaign has already garnered support among young Indians. Defining them as the ‘watchdog of BJP’, this group aims to fight for a better India. Through this website, voters can identify the major issues that Lok Sabha elections 2009 is being contested on, like the financial slowdown, security concerns and terrorism.
