Nirma conducts seminar on nanotechnology

The emergence of nanotechnology is likely to have a significant impact on drug delivery sector, affecting just about every route of administration from oral to injectable. Nanotechnology is opening new opportunity in various sectors, including pharmaceuticals. The Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University of Science and Technology, organised a national seminar on 'Frontiers in Nanotechnology: A Pharmaceutical Perspective' on Friday.

The seminar was inaugurated by Ketanbhai Patel, MD, Troikaa Pharmaceuticals Ltd, which was attended by more than 250 participants from the university circles, pharma organizations and industry from across the country.

During the seminar Sanyog Jain, assistant professor from Centre for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology, at National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Mohali, Chandigarh, delivered the plenary lecture on Nanomedicines: Future Therapeutic Agents and discussed the role of nanotechnology in overcoming the challenges of the conventional drug delivery systems like the bioavailability, side effects and the targeted delivery.

While other speakers such as Rajneesh Srivastava from Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Cardiologist Keyur Parikh, professor RSR Murthy from TIFAC Centre of Relevance and Excellence in NDDS, MS University also delivered lectures.
