India will seek screening of Bollywood films in China which allows only limited access to foreign films and maintains a quota of 30-40 overseas films annually.

New Delhi will seek access for Indian films to the large Chinese market at trade talks here tomorrow between Commerce secretary GK Pillai and visiting China's vice minister of Commerce Zhong Shan.

"We have been asking them to increase their quota of foreign films so that Bollywood also gets a chance to do business in China," a Commerce ministry official said.

China can provide a big market to the Indian movies. Films such as Chandni Chowk to China, which was shot in the Chinese locales and have contents from historical places like the Great Wall of China, can do good business in the neighbouring country, officials feel.

However, there are concerns on both the sides which are likely to figure in the discussions. India will raise issues like surge in imports of items such as aluminium and steel. The Chinese side is expected to voice is concern over New Delhi taking anti-dumping action against the Chinese imports.
