In the backdrop of the Election Commission setting a deadline for 24 hours since Saturday for effecting reshuffle of officials posted at one place for more than three years, the Congress petitioned the Commission on Sunday expressing reservations about the state overnment's alleged non-compliance of the directive.

Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) Working president, Samir Kumar Singh said he had petitioned the Commission this afternoon asking for an instant directive on the issue.

Singh alleged that there were hundreds of officials who were working at one place for more than three years "but the state government is ignoring the directives of the EC."

"It is a blatant violation of the model code of conduct for elections and the directives of the Commission as the state government has not not yet heeded to the instructions of the Commission on the matter," he said.

Singh said the Congress would soon come out with a list of officials posted at one place for more than three years after obtaining the required information through the Rights to Information Act.
