Now, BJP has saffron bag, phone case for supporters

If you are bored with the old methods of promoting your favourite party during elections, there is some respite at least for those who cheer for the BJP. This time, the BJP has ensured there are a few new memorabilia for the supporters.

To start with, the party is selling bags made of china cloth, a non-plastic material, with photos of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani and Rajnath Singh on them. These handbags cost around Rs15. In the past 48 hours, the party has sold over 1,500 bags and the sale is expected to pick up as the elections come closer.

Similarly, orange-coloured cellphone covers with impressions of lotus are also a rage in the party. Most ground-level workers have got these covers which they hang around their necks. Each mobile phone cover costs Rs10.

There is also ‘lotus light’, which can be put on top of car roofs or can be installed in balcony. Each lotus light costs around Rs1,200. A car cover is also available for Rs50 for those who want to flaunt their support for the BJP.

“The hand bags and lotus light are a lot in demand. The mobile phone holder is also in demand and we have already placed orders for it,” said a BJP office-bearer.

The party is also selling lotus-shaped wall and table clocks. The feather light clock is also easy on the wallet and costs only Rs100. The party store has sold up to 400 such clocks in the past 48 hours.
