The Rajasthan high court has agreed to hear the side of producers of Salman Khan-starrer Veer, whose shooting at the historic Amber fort here was stopped on February 13 for damaging the protected structure.

The hearing is on Wednesday. A wall of the fort had collapsed during the shooting, injuring over a dozen people.

Film director Anil Sharma said they were hopeful of a positive response from the court. “Since the film crew was in no way responsible for the wall collapse, we hope the court will provide us respite,” he said.

The case will be now heard by the bench of acting chief justice RC Gandhi, not Ashok Parihar, which had stopped the shooting.

If the court permits, the film will be shot for five to six more days at the fort. As of now, it is being shot at other locations in and around the city. On Saturday, romantic sequences between Salman Khan, Zareen Khan and Liza Lazarus were shot at the royal Jai Niwas Bagh in City Palace, while the Monday shoot was at Kanota.

“We cannot sit idle until the case is settled, so we decided to shoot other sequences in and around the city,” Sharma said. Sources said the producers were spending close to Rs25 lakh per day on the crew.
