Getting right opportunity at right time is a matter of luck of the poor. The youth today has talent but lacks a platform or guidance to sharpen skills for better future. But  two brothers, Ajit and Vijay Vadsaria, have identified this problem area and formed a dance group – Foot-tapping Dance – that trains youth from poor families and later helps them with jobs.

Vadsaria brothers started this dance school three years ago with zero investment, as they too come from a middle class family. Today, the group owns three dance schools and now plans to expand their activity to other parts of the city as well. This dance school has turned them from dancers to entrepreneurs.

Within past three years, Vadsaria brothers created a platform for youth those who have talent, but no platform to showcase it. The group teaches various dance forms, including Salasa, Hip-Hop and Arabic styles at much low cost. Interestingly, the entire creation has been done without any preliminary investment and has been running on its own money.

Say Vijay says, “I was a dance teacher at a private school and used to get very low salary. So I started identifying youths having similar talent and teach dance on contract basis. We formed groups and started teaching at schools, clubs and to other groups. Whatever we earned, a part of it was invested for the school. After struggling for seven years, the Foot-tapping Group was formed. If we find any good dancers who don’t have support, we train them and even provide jobs through our contacts. We do not want them to suffer hardships like Ajit and I have faced during our early days,” adds Vijay.

At present, the group owns three dance schools and now plans to expand their activity to other parts of the city as well.

“We are planning to start centres at poor areas like Unn and Rander so that we can reach to maximum number of students. Both of us regularly take training to update our dance skills in order to reach our goal,” says Ajit.
