Samajwadi Party on Wednesday stepped up its attack on the Congress accusing it of virtually adopting a 'use and throw' policy towards allies ranging from Left parties to NCP, RJD and SP.

"When the utility is over.. they (Congress) even do not recognize. That is clearly visible," SP general secretary Amar Singh said here as the criticism of the Congress remained unabated in the wake of fresh developments in the Supreme Court on the disproportionate asset case against Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Singh recalled that the cases against BSP chief Mayawati vanish when her party supports the Congress in Presidential election.

"Once elections are over, they resurface," he said adding that he was no friend of Mayawati.

Citing some other instances, he said cases are slapped depending on relationship.

"When the relationship with Left sours, CBI is behind CPI-M's Pinaray Vijayan. From Pinaray Vijayan of Kerala to NCP's Praful Patel of Maharashtra, from SP's Mulayam Singh in UP to RJD's Lalu Prasad in Bihar..." he said.

Alleging that CBI was being used as a tool, he said a question mark has risen over the impartiality of the investigating agency.

Sensing a motive in the mistakes of the CBI's status report in Yadav's case, Singh said," had the media not brought these to light, Yadav would have landed in jail."

He said,"A case should be lodged against the CBI chief Vijay Shankar and a reply should also be sought from the Supreme Court judge A R Lakshamanand. I am ready to face contempt charges on this issue, he said."
