Retd PI’s daughter ‘raped’ by cop

A daughter of a retired police inspector of Amraiwadi police station lodged a case against a police constable, accusing him of having raped her.

Khushbu (name changed), lodged a complaint against police constable Rajendra Sinh Gohil, who is presently posted at Botad police station in Bhavnagar. The case was transferred to Amraiwadi police station for further investigation on Tuesday. Gohil was the victim’s neighbour when her father was posted as PI at Amraiwadi police station in 2002. Gohil was alleged to have had an affair with Khushbu. The two also shared a physical relationship.

Even after Khushbu’s father got a transfer from Ahmedabad, Gohil continued with the relationship, claiming he would marry her. However, a few years back, Gohil got engaged with another girl from Bhavnagar. He refused to continue the relationship with Khushbu and said he was determined to marry the other girl.

Sources said that the Amraiwadi police have sent a team to Botad to investigate the case.
