‘We can see a lot of commandos’

Security agency sources had said that a passenger claimed he was carrying a knife and could hijack the plane. The pilot secured his cabin, and requested emergency landing.

Aircraft operations at the Delhi airport were suspended for an hour after IndiGo airlines’ flight 6E 334 made an emergency landing with three unruly passengers, including a woman, threatening to hijack the plane. 

Several aircraft which had landed delayed the disembarking of the passengers for three hours. Some incoming flights were told by ATC to hover over Delhi for some time.
Security agency sources had said that a passenger claimed he was carrying a knife and could hijack the plane.

The pilot secured his cabin, and requested emergency landing.

Vinod Arora, a passenger, said they were not allowed to disembark for a few hours.
A passenger onboard told a TV network that it was surrounded by armed security personnel. “Outside, we can see a lot of commandos, with guns, all crouched around,” he said. “The passengers are calm. Everything inside is normal. But some passengers are getting restless.”
