Exasperated by Pakistan’s constant denials, India is launching a diplomatic offensive to nail Islamabad and force it to act against terror outfits there. Delhi will present a fact sheet of the Pakistani link (the 10 terrorists involved in Mumbai attack) to envoys of diplomatic missions in the capital.

“With Pakistan in denial mode it is up to us to present the evidence we have collected to the international community. This time at least, we will not let Islamabad get away with its usual response,” said an official on condition of anonymity.

The idea is not to allow the diplomatic pressure on Pakistan to ease. The fact sheet will contain evidence of the conversation between the terrorists and handlers based in Pakistan. Much of the interrogation of Ajmal, the lone surviving terrorist, will also be handed over.

India wants to present a foolproof case to the international community to get Islamabad to act. The US and Britain have already presented to Pakistan much of the evidence provided by India last week. The US helped track down the conversation between terrorists and their handlers.

On Monday, China’s vice foreign minister He Yafei will hold talks with foreign secretary Shivshankar Menon. The Chinese minister was in Pakistan some days ago. India is expected to present the dossier to the visiting leader too.
