It looks like the film-makers of
Jumbo are taking a little help from Shah Rukh Khan to keep the buzz going and also promote their movie which is facing a very tough box-office battle with the Aamir Khan-starrer
Ghajini.
Ghajini has already created a lot of buzz with Aamir's new look and its innovative publicity campaigns. The creators of the animated film is coming out with
Jumbo merchandise with soft toys of the central characters in the film — one male and a female elephant named
Jumbo (voiced by Akshay Kumar) and Sonia (voiced by Lara Dutta) — being called
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. This is a clear indication that the film wants to ride on the success of the heart-warming on-screen romantic story of King Khan and Anushka Sharma in the Aditya Chopra-directed film.
Navin Shah, CEO, Percept Picture Company says: “
Rab Ni Bana Di Jodi is the flavour of the season and when you see Jumbo, you will realise why we have named the couple after them. You have to see to believe the love, bonding and chemistry that
Jumbo and Sonia share with each other thorough out the film. Akshay and Lara are known for their on- screen chemistry; they have brought the same flavour in their respective characters.”
A source had earlier tipped us about the development. “Rab
Ne Bana Di Jodi has turned out to be a good hit and so the film-makers of
Jumbo want to cash in on the talk of the town. They are going all out to keep the buzz going about
Jumbo. In any case they have a box office clash with Aamir's film and the opening of Ghajini has been simply amazing.
