BUDAUN (UP): Favouring quick action on the terror front in the wake of Mumbai carnage, senior BJP leader Kalyan Singh on tuesday, said if he were the prime minister, India would have attacked Pakistan by now.

People wanted action against perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks at the earliest, he said adding "without quick action, it is not possible to get rid of the terror menace".

The terror assault on Mumbai had not only united people of the country but also politicians of different hues, he said.

This called for immediate response on the terror front, the BJP veteran said.

"After 9/11, the US took immediate action. As a result, not even a small incident like a cracker explosion has taken place there. India should take a cue from this."

Talking to reporters in Budaun, Singh gave a few tips to the UPA government at the Centre to rein in terrorism sponsored by
the neighbouring country.

The Centre should hang Parliament terror attack convict Afzal Guru and launch air strikes to destroy terror training camps in the Pok, Singh said.

Besides, Congress leader A R Antulay, at the centre of a firestorm over his remarks on slain ATS chief Hemant Karkare, should be sacked and tried for treason, he said.

"If the government implements these steps, then the entire opposition will support it," Singh said.
