BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan wants his state to be peaceful and prosperous in the next five years.

Addressing his first meeting with principal secretaries and secretaries at the mantralaya here last evening, the chief minister said this would need not only economic growth but also capacity building of each and every citizen.

Chouhan said to give top priority to infrastructure including power, water and roads, making agriculture profitable, increasing investment industry, women empowerment, expansion of educational and health facilities and sound law and order.

He directed the chief secretary, Rakesh Sahani who was also present at the meeting to constitute special working groups for the purpose.

The chief minister said that while working with full commitment towards delivering on the promises made in the manifesto and priorities of the government, efforts would be made to mobilise addtional resources and austerity.

Chouhan directed officers at all levels to conduct field visits to check the leakages and to get a first hand account of ground realities. This, he said, would also ensure more efficient implementation of schemes and programmes.
