Security beefed up at major railway stations in TN

CHENNAI: Security has been beefed up at major railway stations in Tamil Nadu following an "internal alert" issued by the Railway authorities.
    
According to Southern Railway officials, an "internal alert" was issued following which intensive searches were carried out in the Chenani, Coimbatore, Tiruchirapalli and Erode stations, besides Egmore and Tambaram railway stations in Chennai.
   
Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, bomb disposal squad as well as sniffer dogs carried out extensive searches, including on trains, officials said and denied that any bomb threat was made to these stations.
