A woman was killed in a gun-battle between security forces and militants during an ongoing encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence officer said on Friday.

JAMMU: A woman was killed in a gun-battle between security forces and militants during an ongoing encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence officer said on Friday.

The woman got trapped in the cross-fire between the security forces and the militants in Kolaras area, and lost her
life, he said.

The official said that additional forces have been sent to assist the troops in the encounter.
