NEW DELHI: A bomb scare at a district courts complex here, which ultimately turned out to be a hoax call, Monday adversely affected its functioning and sent security
personnel into a tizzy.

"An anonymous call, informing some bombs have been planted at the Patiala House District Courts complex here, was received at around 10:15 am by the Police Control Room," a police official of Tilak Marg Police station said.

An intense combing operation of all the four buildings of the complex has been undertaken by the Police and their Bomb Disposal Squad for about five hours, he added, confirming that it was a "hoax call".

"One-by-one every courtroom was vacated and in the search operation, the sniffer dogs were also pressed into the service," an additional sessions judge said.

The premises were being sanitised following a request to the lawyers and judges to remain in their chambers, he said.

On December four, Tis Hazari district court premises were vacated following an anonymous call about threat of a terror attack, which had triggered panic among lawyers, litigants and court staff as well as security personnel.

Police has cordoned off the entire area while staff, litigants and lawyers have been asked to call it a day in view of the threat.
