Here, Bollywood meets Hollywood

Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Sonam Kapoor will rub shoulders with Nicolas Cage, Brendan Fraser, Salma Hayek and Goldie Hawn at the Dubai International Film Festival.

The Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), which turns five this year, will see Bollywood stars Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Sonam Kapoor attending the event and rubbing shoulders with international celebrities like Nicolas Cage, Brendan Fraser, Salma Hayek and Goldie Hawn, the festival’s official website said.

Apart from this film-maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra will unveil the first look of his film Dilli 6 during the festival that runs from December 11-18. Abhishek and Sonam, the lead actors of Dilli 6 will unveil the first look. Actors Anil Kapoor and Freida Pinto will also fly to Dubai to promote their film Slumdog Millionaire. Nandita Das will promote her directorial debut Firaaq and south Indian superstar Mamooty will also grace the event.

The fest also has a Cultural Bridge Panel comprising film-maker Deepa Mehta, Canadian journalist Cameron Bailey, the iconic singer Harry Belafonte and Algerian novelist Mohammed Molessehoul.

Other prominent names from the West like the three-time Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone, legendary character actor Danny Glover, Nanny McPhee star Eliza Bennett, producer Charles Roven (who will receive a Film-maker of the Year award) and three-time Oscar nominated actor Laura Linney will also be present.
