Girl found dead, parents suspect rape and murder

       
KANPUR: The body of a 17-year-old girl was found hanging from a tree near her house in Uttampur village of Bilhor town here, with her parents alleging that she was raped and murdered.
 
The victim's parents had gone out of the house on Friday leaving the girl, a tenth grade student of DRD Inter College, with her siblings, police said.
 
However, on returning they found the girl dead, her body hanging from a tree.
       
The parents alleged that their daughter was raped and murdered by some people in the village with whom they are involved in a land feud.
      
"The land dispute could have been the motive of the murder," police said. The body has been sent for a postmortem.
