''Barbed comments' will make series interesting'

MELBOURNE: With the India-Australia Test series evenly poised, former wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist says some barbed verbal exchange among players of the two sides is but natural amid the tension.
    
"It is a really delicately poised series now after no-one got the upper hand, and there is a little barbed comments going back and forth so it is just firing up nicely for the rest of the series," the former Ausyralian vice-captain was quoted as saying in WAtoday.com.au.
    
"I enjoyed watching (the first Test in Bangalore), was thrilled with Ricky's hundred, and watching a few other newish players developing in their role," said the stumper.
    
His familiar face behind the stumps may be missing when Brett Lee ambles up in his run up, but Gilchrist said he has no regrets walking away from the game while still at his peak.
    
"I am more and more certain every day that I made the right decision and enjoying it a great deal.
    
"I have really enjoyed following the (Bangalore) Test, I did not get the chance and have been too busy to sit down and watch the whole Test match, but I will always take an interest and be in touch with the team," said Gilchrist, who is busy with the 2008 Ronald McDonald House Charities Ball on November 8.
    
It will offer an unique chance to 16 bidders to play in a Twenty20 match featuring some of Western Australia's cricketing greats against some formidable rugby opponents.
    
Gilchrist, along with Justin Langer and Brad Hogg, will take on a side led by Western Force skipper Nathan Sharpe.
