Advani flays attacks on Christians

GUWAHATI: The BJP on Monday condemned the attacks on Christians and churches in Orissa and Karnataka and said culprits must be brought to justice.
    
Addressing mediapersons at Lokopriyo Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport here, senior BJP leader L K Advani said the law must take its course and culprits must be brought to justice.
    
Advani said that during his day-long visit to Shillong today, he had a very fruitful meeting with religious leaders of various faiths including Hindus, Muslims and Christians.
    
''I availed of the oppurtunity to comment on incidents that had occurred in parts of Orissa and Karnataka--namely the killing of innocent Christians and attack on some churches. I strongly condemn these acts of violence and vandalism which cannot be condoned or justified'',  he said.
     
 He called for frank and constructive inter-religious dialogues on issues that might be agitating the minds of this or that community.
    
''Let the people belonging to all religious communities strengthen the bond of Indianness," he said.
