NEW DELHI: Defending champions Hyderabad Heroes will lock horns with last edition's runners-up Lahore Badshahs in the opening encounter of the second season of the Indian Cricket League, which gets underway on October 10.
The 38-day-long event, involving nine teams including the newly added Dhaka Warriors from Bangladesh, will see a total of 41 matches in four venues -- Hyderabad, Panchkula, Gurgaon and Ahmedabad, which is a new addition.
"ICL's first season produced some high quality cricket all-round, very impressive domestic young players have showcased some outstanding cricket... I am sure ICL's second season will give some nail biting and heart stopping moments," former India cricketer Kapil Dev, who is also the chairman of ICL Executive Board, said.
The first final of the tournament will be held in Ahmedabad, while the other two are scheduled in Hyderabad.
