Sexually harassed girl 'commits suicide'

JAMSHEDPUR: Upset over indecent phone calls and harrasment by a neighbour a 15-year-old girl allegedly commited suicide at Cable bustee under Golmuri police station here in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, police said.
    
One person Paitali, a driver, was arrested after last afternoon's incident on the basis of an FIR by the girl's mother Rita Devi which alleged Paitali had been making indecent proposals and following the tenth standard student causing her deep mental stress and agony, police said.
    
The mother alleged that the girl went to Paitali's house to  protest but was subjected to misbehaviour by the accused and his family members.
    
The girl, who was rushed to Tinplate Hospital after allegedly consuming poison, succumbed later.
