Man arrested for raping student

MALDA (WB): A tutor was arrested for allegedly raping his student over a period of time.
    
Ismile Hossain, a teacher of Motihari Higher Secondary School, had asked the class XII student of Barlow Girl's Higher Secondary School, to move in with him so that he could devote more time to her studies, police said.
    
Hossain, taking advantage of the absence of his wife and sons, raped her on a number of occasions, they said.
    
When the girl, who topped the Madhyamik exam in 2006, objected, he threatened to blackmail her.
    
The girl then told her father who lodged a complaint with the English Bazar police against the tutor on Saturday, Superintendent of Police S Bandopadhaya said on Sunday.
