Fake citizenship certificate racket busted in UP

PILIBHIT (UP): Police have busted a gang allegedly involved in preparing fake Indian citizenship certificates for illegal Bangladeshi migrants and arrested its kingpin.
    
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Parmanand Majumdar, the kingpin of the gang on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police
Mohit Agarwal told reporters here on Wednesday.
    
"Majumdar used to supply the fake certificates in Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Bareilly, Lakhimpur and other districts of the state," he said.
    
During interrogation, Majumdar had given vital information regarding other members of the gang, the SP said, adding that attempts were on to nab them.
