KURUKSHETRA: Kurukshetra Lok Sabha MP Navin Jindal said on Sunday that some Congress party MPs are making "undesirable statements for gaining political mileage" from the Rohtak incident.

"People know why these MPs were making such statements," he said when asked to comment on the role of MPs in the state affairs.

Raj Rani, a protesters, succumbed to bullets injuries while 20 others received injuries when police lathicharged and opened fire on the agitating teachers in Rohtak last week.

"The Rohtak episode was indeed unfortunate, but equally unfortunate are the statements made by the congress MPs, even after the chief minister B S Hooda had ordered an inquiry into it to find out truth and guilt," said Jindal in Barwa village, during his visit to the recently carved out Karnal Parliamentary constituency to Kurukshetra.

Dr Arvind Sharma, party's Karnal MP, and Member of Parliament from Ambala, Seilja Kumari have criticised the district administration for its lapse in dealing with issue.

Dr Sharma went to the extent of comparing the Hooda government with that of his predecessor Om Prakash Chautala, saying that the regimes of the Jat community leaders, whether of Congress party or the Indian National Lok Dal, have been
atrocious on other communities in the state.
