No 'Jashn' for Prachi Desai!

The actor was dropped from the Vishesh Films production as she had made some commitments to Abbas-Mastan’s project

Prachi Desai may have made a successful debut (Rock On) but she recently lost out on a plum assignment. The actor, who was roped in for Vishesh Films’ Jashn, a musical, was dropped the next day she was signed on.

Producer Mukesh Bhatt says, “We had signed Prachi for Jashn (opposite Adyayann Suman, Shekhar Suman’s son). But we realised that she had made some commitments to Abbas-Mastan whose film she is currently shooting for.” He adds, “After getting to know the clauses of her commitment, we realised that it would be difficult for us to wrap up and release the film quickly. We were worried that our film could be pushed back as she could not shoot with us continuously. Abbas-Mastan’s film had an intermittent shooting schedule.”

He adds, “Also, we cannot wait for her to finish one film and then see her on board with us. We wanted her immediately and she could not give her dates to us.” Mukesh also states, “Abbas-Mastan’s film is a multi-starrer that has people like Govinda in it. If any actor cancels a shoot then our film would suffer. We would have loved to have her in the film. She is a  good actress but we had no other option but to drop her.”

Jashn will narrate the story of a 19- year-old boy Akash (Adhyayan) and  his ambition to become a rock star.
