It was the beginning of a new life for Monica Bedi — and she promised it would be far, far away from the shadow of her paramour, the notorious don Abu Salem. And she had already decided to seek out another innings in films.
“I will come back to Hyderabad because I am getting a number of film offers. But before that I want to spend some time with my family,” she had said, before heading towards Hoshiarpur, her native place.
While whatever Telugu or Bollywood films she’d been approached for haven’t come good for her as yet, now it’s more or less confirmed — and by mutliple industry sources — that Monica will be staging her ‘big’ comeback on the small screen instead with a reality show. And the show is the second season of Big Boss which will be hosted by Shilpa Shetty.
“Word has leaked out that Monica Bedi is also one of the contestants,” reveals a source.
When contacted Deepak Dhar, the head of Endemol India (the producers of the show), merely noted that this news was ‘speculative in nature’ and said that he can’t reveal the contestants’ names. At the same time, he refused to deny the possibility of Monica being on the show.
If Monica is indeed one of the participants, it may become mighty tough for co-contestants to plot her ouster from the show. What if Abu Salem decides that he doesn’t like it?
For that matter, the once dreaded don is lodged in the even more dreaded anda cell of Arthur Road Jail — and cable television is unfortunately just not part of the facilities offered to ‘guests’ there.
