'Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak,' will have a star-studded presence with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar playing pivotal roles.
MUMBAI: 'Vighnaharta Shri Siddhivinayak,' a film based on real life experiences of devotees of famous deity Lord Siddhivinayak, will have a star-studded presence with Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan and cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar playing pivotal roles.
The film directed by debutant Yashwant Ingole, who assisted noted director Madhur Bhandarkar in many of his movies, is slated for an October release.
Ingole said that "Vighnaharta..." which stars Parmeet Sethi and Divya Dutta in the lead roles is not a religious or devotional film in a strict sense.
Besides, it is not based on any supersititions, he said adding he has already shot one schedule of the film and the remaining portions will be done from tomorrow.
Also, the movie has generated a lot of interest as both Big B and Tendulkar are ardent devotees of Siddhivinayak.
Bachchan and his family members often walk barefoot to the temple from his residence to attend early morning 'aarti' on Tuesdays.
The master blaster also offers prayers and seeks the blessings of Lord Ganesha by paying a visit to the temple before every crucial match.
"The Siddhivinayak temple trust has registered more than 100 miracles experienced by the Lord's devotees. We have picked about six to seven for our script," Ingole said.
Moreover, Lord Ganpati is looked upon as symbol of love towards elders especially parents.
"It is known that Ganpati did a 'parikrama' around his parents when asked to do around the universe. The film will give a social message that the Lord is firmly behind those who look after their parents," he added.
Ingole said Bachchan will do the voice-over for "Vighnaharta..." while Sachin will appear in the film during the climax sequence (the 'aarti' in Siddhivinayak temple) which will be turning point of the film.
"We will take a call on whether he (Sachin) will have a role in the film or just participate in the 'aarti' to give a strong social message after he returns from Sri Lanka," Ingole said.
Tendulkar will appear in a film for the first time. His childhood buddy cricketer Vinod Kambli, cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar, Sandeep Patil, Salim Durrani, Pakistan cricket Mohsin Khan are some of the cricketing greats who have appeared on celluloid screen earlier.
Sridevi will appear in the film in the role of a teacher, Ingole said.
Other Bollywood stars, who will add glitz to the movie include Shilpa Shetty and Govinda, both Siddhivinayak devotees.
"Vighnaharta..." is produced by Raju Sangavi in association with the Siddhivinayak Temple Trust.
