MUMBAI: Former crime boss and Dawood Ibrahim's associate Om Prakash Shrivastav, better known as Babloo Shrivastav, apparently wants to turn producer now and make a film on his first novel "Adhure Khwab".

The book, which he penned in jail, gives an inside view of the underworld operations, including the modus operandi of organized crime.

Shrivastav, who is currently lodged in a prison in Barreilly, Uttar Pradesh, has approached television and film actor Sanjay Swaraj through his associates to play the main lead in the movie.

Sanjay said: "I was shooting for a Bhojpuri serial 'Baliya Kranti' when I was approached for the film. Bablooji's close friends contacted me."

Sanjay has done cameos in "Guru", "Mangal Pandey - The Rising" and "GangaaJal". However, it was his performance in TV serials that impressed the don.

"They told me that they were impressed by my performance in various serials, especially 'Om Namah Shivayah', 'Family Business' and 'Rakhi' in which I play Zaminder Padam Singh. I am interested in doing the film," he said.

Sanjay pointed out that being a native of Uttar Pradesh might have been another reason for them to approach him.

"They have informed me that they have spoken to a couple of directors, but refused to divulge their names," he said.
